Why do people worry so much about traffic?

Surrender your site to the search engines… Don’t make it obvious that you want the search engines to list you.  Just make it easy for them by having all the right information reaady for the indexing spiders.
Unveil your site by telling people about it in groups, forums and on your list.  Squidoo, Hubpages and many other web 2.0 sites will reveal to the world (and to the search engine spiders) where your site is and why they should go visit it.
Capitalize on the BUZZ of the day to post on your blog about your site and why it is relevant to the topic!  Use newspapers, google trends and even the magazine racks in grocery stores to find the BUZZ!
Create links pointing to your site from other Web 2.0 and social media sites.
Expect the spiders to come see your site – and be ready to feed them!

Sell yourself and why you are most capable of helping people with their problems.

Solve the problem that is most troubling to your visitors.  Remember, they aren’t looking for a drill to place on their mantle… they want a hole.  Explain how your drill will make it easier to get that hole.
