With the recent flood of giveaways that began with the annual
holiday related giveaways to the now prevalent 4 times a year
giveaways, marketing has evolved to one more specialty:
Giveaway Marketing.
I haven’t totally put all of my eggs in that basket yet, because
I still am kind of irritated by the amount of duplicate products
that find their way into these giveaways.
If I were to spend my time create new products, just to give them
away, I would have to get one heck of a benefit from it.
That is why the most profitable position for a Giveaway Marketer
is that of the Giveaway Owner (the person who is having the
giveaway on his website).
Since the Giveaway Owners are providing the hub of activity, they
get the subscribers from everyone’s efforts, so they get the
biggest lists.
Once the giveaway marketers have these huge lists, they can profit
by selling these new subscribers all kinds of new products. Either
their own or affiliate products.
So what is the answer? Is this new marketing force a good one?
I have not tried holding my own Giveaway, yet. I may do so in
the near future, I was thinking about July. The results I am
getting from marketing to my own list of people who have signed
up from Giveaways has varied in responsiveness.
They respond greatly to any giveaways and fr.ee products, which is
understandable, since it is much more valuable to a subscriber
to be able to get marketing tools and products to sell for fr.ee.
Mark Joyner states in one of his books that every offer can be
successful if it is framed properly – that is, if placed into a
context where the frame of mind of the prospect is adjusted to
fit that of a buyer of the product you are trying to sell.
So if I were trying to sell you a product on list building, I
would write an email telling you about the benefits of having
your own list and then as an aside, tell you about the launch
of a great list building product.
Done properly, this method is highly effective and profitable.
So back to my Giveaway Marketing theory, I think if you are
able to properly frame every one of your promotions where you
increase the prospects awareness of his (or her) need for what
that product provides before you even mention the product, you
are 300% more likely to sell that prospect.
So in my opinion, you need to concentrate on building the list,
using Giveaways as a vehicle to building that list (that is why my
ebook List Building for FUN and Profit is in most JV Giveaways).
I will be releasing a new version of List Building for FUN and
Profit in late August which will include 3 new strategies that are
becoming very powerful and are making me money.
So what do you do if you want to hold your own JV Giveaway?
I suggest placing a product in the current giveaways for the
next three months and build a list of people that you know
will want to be in your giveaway.
At the same time, you will be making a name for yourself in the
JV community, because people who bring a lot of people into a
giveaway become noticed. They are also the first contacted
for new JV opportunities. I know this to be true, because I
now am told at least 3 weeks prior to any JV giveaway.
Then, get yourself one of the software products that are
on the market right now to host your own Giveaway. The
one I most recommend is the program put out by Brad Smith
of the Easter JV Giveaway, which he has been using for the
last few projects he has done. It is rightly called Giveaway
Manager, and Brad is keeping the price down for another
couple of days so that the people who are ready to do a
giveaway can get started, and once he has raised the price,
he will effectively limit the number of giveaways competing
in the Giveaway Marketing Arena!
The other product currently available from the Germana
Brothers, JV Giveaway Pro, is a high priced complete
solution. I feel like it should have more features at the
price that it is being offered. (Hint: a member should be
allowed to offer more than one product – to capture from
different niches).
Given the price difference, my recommendation is to go
with Giveaway Manager.

take a serious look at Giveaway Marketing as your next
method to build and profit from your own list.
